Precipice is an interactive simulation that vividly describes future scenarios based on climate change and environmental disasters. The player interacts with a number of characters and narrative artifacts in a 3D environment. While doing so the player can influence the characters to make decisions in life that can negatively or positively influence the future. The player has the option to go into the future year of 2032 to experience the effects of his or her interaction. The experience is riddled with narrative puzzles to encourage the player to explore various outcomes.

Once a 3D model is posed with the right lighting and camera angle, a screen grab was taken to manipulate the image in 2D

This project is a collaboration between the Centre for Digital Media and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under Homeland Security located in Washington D.C., USA.

My Role: In a team of 7 people, my role consisted of creating and managing all 2D art assets which included more than 400 panels. All panels were visualizations of branching narratvie content. The development cycle being only 12 weeks, I needed to come up with an effective art production pipeline that would not impede the success of the project.

Branching narrative with naming convention.

Dialogue tree visually represented with win, lose and non effected states.

Finally all panel artwork laid out in sequence.
